The objective

The first step to Spanish football.

The Trial is the usual first step for players who want to explore football opportunities in Spain through an in-person evaluation. It allows ATG to:

  • Get to know the player directly
  • Assess their sporting level
  • Analyse their characteristics
  • Identify strengths
  • Detect areas for improvement
  • Understand behaviour in training
  • Analyse options in Spanish football
  • Study which contexts could fit best

How it works

Five steps from your sofa to the pitch.

  1. 01

    Step 1

    Send your profile

The family completes the online application form.

  5. 05

    Step 5

    Next steps

ATG communicates its assessment and the possible options to continue.

What the experience can include

Clear about what's included.

Every trial is configured with the family. We clearly differentiate what is part of the experience, what is optional and what depends on the player's profile.

Sporting evaluation

What we look at.

The evaluation is contextualised: we observe the player in real football situations and always adapt it to their age.

Coach observing a player during a drill
  • Technical

Control, passing, ball carrying, finishing, dribbling and ball mastery.

  • Tactical

Game understanding, positioning, perception, decision-making and adaptation to different situations.

  • Physical

Conditional capacities relevant to the player's age and situation, without tests inappropriate for minors.

  • Mental

Attitude, learning ability, adaptation, concentration and sporting behaviour.

After the trial

Possible outcomes.

Every player leaves with an honest assessment. These are the most common scenarios:

  1. 1

Identification of a suitable sporting opportunity.

  2. 2

Recommendation to continue developing before looking for an opportunity.

  3. 3

Proposal to join a season program.

  4. 4

Recommendations to keep progressing in the home environment.

ATG does not guarantee signings, federation registrations or acceptance by clubs.

Trial FAQ

Questions families ask.

What age do I need to be to participate?
Trials are designed for young players in formative age groups. Please indicate the player's date of birth in the application and we will confirm whether there is a suitable format.
How are candidates selected?
Our team reviews each application — profile, football background, videos and objectives — and decides whether an in-person experience makes sense at this moment.
Do I need to send videos?
It's not mandatory, but highly recommended. Match or training footage helps us understand the player before the trial.
What football level do I need?
There is no single level. What matters is that the trial can be useful for the player. If we think another step is better first, we will tell you.
Can I do the Trial during the season?
Dates are agreed with each family. We'll study availability with you, taking into account the player's school and club calendar.
Is accommodation included?
Accommodation can be organised as an option. What is and isn't included is always confirmed in writing before the trial.
Can my parents come with me?
Yes. Families are welcome to accompany the player. We'll help you organise the week.
What happens if I don't find a club?
A trial is an evaluation, not a guarantee of a club. At the end we explain our assessment and the alternatives: continuing development, a season program or recommendations to keep progressing at home.
Will I receive an evaluation?
Yes. ATG communicates its assessment and the possible next steps at the end of the experience.
What documents do I need?
Valid travel documents and, for minors, the corresponding parental authorisations. We'll send the full list once the trial is confirmed.
Can I do another Trial later?
Yes. Some players come back after a period of development to measure their progress.
